Mental health: What is stress?

Anything that is away from the normal causes stress. That is when things are not in equilibrium one gets into a situation wherein one feels a subjective feeling of uneasiness.

"Some amount of stress is normal in day to day life and we call it Eustress, but when it reaches pathological levels then it's called Distress and this is what we need to deal with" informs Dr Kersi Chavda, Psychiatrist, P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC, Mumbai.

Signs of Stress

Palpitation, sweating, cold, clammy extremities, butterflies in stomach feeling, desire to keep going to the toilet, headache, dizziness, appetitive and sleep disturbances, difficulty with breathing, acidity, problems related to sexuality. All these symptoms are related to psychological distress.

Causes for Stress

The causes for stress can be innumerable and maybe divided into factors

a) Internal

b) External.

The internal factor refers to the personality types which in itself maybe anxious, depressed, obsessive, or dependent. The external environment may refer to stress related to study, relationships, death and divorce, chronic physical illness, financial matters etc.

Treatment for Stress

The treatment lies in dealing with the cause if there is one. This refers to coping with the triggers of fights with the dear ones, putting in war effort at study so as to reduce the stress of inadequate preparation etc. In certain situations, medications maybe indicated to reduce excessive anxiety. The use of exercise and supplements like vitamins and antioxidants also plays an important role in helping cope with stress.

Tips to Control Stress

In order to lead a healthy and stress-free life, it is vital to follow certain guidelines or steps. They will help you get a better control over life and alter the way you view stress or its trigger factors.

Regular Exercise: Not surprisingly, exercise is one of the best ways to deal with stress. A regular 20-30 minutes of physical activity every day is vital to decrease stress hormones like cortisol and increase your body's feel good chemicals called endorphins. Besides this, certain forms of exercise like martial arts or boxing can act as an outlet for releasing all your vent-up emotions and frustrations.
Relaxation Techniques: This not only involves taking time to relax everyday but also employing certain basic relaxation techniques. This involves deep breathing techniques, meditation and practicing different yoga postures to relax your body muscles. What is Stress?

Tips to Tackle Stress

Balanced Diet: What you put inside your body also determines your ability to cope with stress or anxiety. A balanced diet comprising fresh fruits and vegetables is a must to reverse the negative impacts of stress and lead a healthy life.
Avoid Stressful Situations: As far as possible, ensure that you avoid unnecessary arguments, conflicts or any other stressful situation. Try to keep yourself calm in every way and avoid indulging in unnecessary situations.
Sleep: Finally, a regular 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep is also important to relax your mind and body. If you face any difficulty in sleep, you can also make use of relaxation techniques like listening to music or reading a book.

Back Pain Relief - Pilates or Yoga?

As health costs rise, and as fewer customers of the medical system report satisfactory results from invasive treatments such as surgery or injections, more people are turning to exercise as a way of helping themselves. The good news is that studies show even a general exercise program may help keep back pain in check.

But it's better than that. In the last few decades, numerous exercise and movement systems have been busy proving their worth as effective back pain relief methods. Two of the more well known exercise systems commonly used to control spine pain are Pilates and yoga.  What I like about both methods is that they work your muscle.  In my experience.

getting strong is a necessary ingredient in managing spine pain.  Your muscle has the capacity to support your body, and keep your joints in line (which may reduce strain, and therefore pain).  Muscle work should not be ignored! The other thing I like about both of these methods are that they work the body in alignment.  This is another necessary component of back pain reduction from my perspective.

How can we improve our daily morning life style

Getting up early in the morning seems very bad. One can sleep late in the night but if asking anyone to get up early in the morning is real pain. Especially in the winter, the sleep is real abnormal, which is very different from normal sleep of summer. Body requires a complete rest and recharge and it can only be possible either by stress buster or by sleep.

Sleep is also a kind of stress buster. Now a days the life is going fast and fast and lot of tensions are over head of an individual, which at times, makes the person die in living situation. Improving life style is necessary for all of us, who wants to be fit and fine in their olden days. Going on morning walk, yoga, meditation is compulsorily required by everyone. There is also a saying early to bed early to rise makes the man healthily, wealthy and wise. If I ask to apply all the fitment factors in day one, it would release its impact, that would not be corrected but if any one try doing these practices for continuous period, she or he would definitely be benefited.

Looking at today's life style the person the ageing factors is too high. People of 30'ss looks of 40's and tense and disturbed. If I talk about the olden age, when our ancestors used to live up to age of 100 years. The reason why today's generation person does not seems like a person 20 years before. In my opinion, the kind of food we have is not pure, it is contaminated with impure things, which goes in the body and creates a lot of problems.

Eventually the medication in India or in the world is improved but on the contrary the ratio of population is also increased. If a person adapt the meditation, yoga, morning walk all these. The change has certainly to come in person. The present living standards are worst and it gives lot of problem later on and in fact presently. In the nutshell, I will simply say a proper sleep of 8 hours is required for person under any circumstances. Morning walk, yoga, meditation is necessarily required. If the person adapts these mantras in his life, the change is certainly there.

Now a days people do not have time to cook for them. Most of people working and living alone in cities take meal outside, which is dirty and unhygienic. Please visit to our social web site Tabco This is the website which consists of the all the relevant information about health and loosing health

Relieving Tension Headaches Without Medication

Headaches come in a number of varieties -- migraines, tension headaches, sinus headaches -- but regardless of the type, it can be a debilitating and downright annoying condition. A majority of headache sufferers have headaches that can be labeled as tension headaches. Through the years, many theories have surrounded the cause of these headaches. The name comes from the fact that tension in the muscles of the neck can cause significant pain in the head, but tension in the form of stress can certainly contribute to this common cause of headache. Besides using traditional anti-inflammatory (such as ibuprofen or naproxen) and pain-relieving medications, there are also other ways to reduce tension in your life so these headaches become a thing of the past.
